The extra content for GC is good, but with a 50ish hour runtime I'm personally fine with a bit less content. It's like comparing FLAC to phone speaker. If you're the kind of person who wears headphones and loves music, you'll be sad with the GC's audio. Even on component cables it just doesn't beat VGA. The sound quality and graphics (if you're using VGA) are far better than the GC's music and analog output. I'd personally recommend the Dreamcast version if you're playing on original hardware, and Gamecube if you're emulating. I hear the GCN version has less encounters, but I've tried both myself and I personally didn't notice a difference at all.
